Here Come the Helpdeskers: How to preserve your data

You may recall seeing this under the System News tab in Community Services (the artist formerly known as ServicePoint), but here’s what you need to know about Verify and Save. Verify and Save is really sneaky, in that it appears to be helpful, but in reality isn’t helpful at all. While we wish we could remove this feature entirely, we can’t. So the best thing we can do is spread the word.

Clicking “Verify and Save Data” actually creates multiple copies of the data you’re entering. You can see just how many times it’s been duplicated by clicking on the History Bar. Often what happens is the multiple copies of your answer in the answer history cause many errors and negatively affects your data quality. You should always stick to clicking on “Save” or “Save & Exit”.
