Thank You, Annual Meeting Attendees!

Thank you to those who were able to attend and participate in the 2024 HMIS Annual Meeting. If you were unable to attend and would like to watch the presentation and/or view the slides you can do so by clicking here.

During the meeting, we had an opportunity to reflect on the vision and mission of the HMIS Governing Board and learn more about the why the software transition is important to each Governing Board member. We also reviewed the software transition, why the change, milestones, challenges, and how far we have come. Our dedicated and thoughtful Governing Board Committees, Finance, Policy and Prioritization (P&P), and Implementation, shared their accomplishments for 2024. Britt Heinz-Amborn, HMIS Director, reviewed life after go-live: where we are now and where we are headed. Lastly, two decisions made during the Annual Meeting were to ratify the Governing Board’s decision to certify ICA as the HMIS Lead Agency on November 12th and approve the addition of two Governing Board seats to be held by People with Lived Expertise.

As David said in his closing, “HMIS is the tool of the trade for those of us in the homeless response system. It is essential to our work making homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring”. We are grateful for your partnership as we build and utilize a data system that, by centering the client and user experience, we use HMIS to connect people to resources and to drive decisions so that we equitably prevent and end homelessness in Minnesota. We do this in pursuit of housing, racial and health justice for people experiencing homelessness and housing instability.
