The Look of Minnesota’s HMIS Will Be Changing

WellSky, our current MN HMIS software vendor, has announced that Community Services (formerly known as ServicePoint) will receive an update that will alter the site’s appearance and elements of the user interface. This means that familiar components like client records, assessments, and built-in reports will soon have a new look and feel.

The news about these changes was first shared by WellSky at its training summit in mid-June. WellSky has not provided many details about what will be included in the system update, but it is extending a public invitation to an introductory webinar on the new look (more on that below!).

WellSky has said that it will make the update available to customers on July 24th, but a firm rollout date has not yet been identified for Minnesota’s HMIS. Given the limited details made available thus far by WellSky, and knowing that changes to the site’s appearance and user interface could be disruptive for our users, ICA is eager to thoroughly examine the update before we approve of it being applied to MN’s HMIS. However, it is certain that the change will take place before October 1st, because software upgrades associated with the FY 2024 HMIS Data Standards cannot be installed without these other changes going into effect first. ICA will send out another announcement when we have completed our review and have a timeline for applying the system update to our site.

For those interested in previewing the new look coming to our HMIS, the full text of WellSky’s webinar invitation has been included below:
