Further information on recent ART report outages

On June 8, we informed our HMIS user base of an ART reports outage. See the description of the outage in our previous post.

 What is the latest?

We triaged all reports in the REPORTcollection and learned 20 were down. We determined nine of those to be critical or high priority based on their frequency of use, impact to client experience in the homeless response system, and proximity to funding deadlines.

We also identified precisely what went wrong. Wellsky is working to restore what caused the outage.

 I want the technical details!

When Wellsky completed a purge of some historical data, per our request, there was an error in their code that deleted inactive ServicePoint fields that are not visible for data entry, but are still available for reporting purposes. When they deleted these subassessment fields, any report where those fields were present behind the scenes, even if not in use, no longer worked.

The good news is that, while those fields are out of use, they can still restore the historical data.

 Are my reports working?

We fixed the critical and high priority reports. Be sure to schedule or view ART reports from the REPORTcollection, rather than re-run a previous report, so you are sure to use the latest version. The June 2021 ART Outage log shows which reports are fixed, ok, or still down.

When will they all be restored?

We are not quite sure. Wellsky is giving us daily updates on their progress. Once their fix passes our quality assurance testing, they will restore the data on our live site. We will share again when the issue is resolved.

Thank you again for your patience.
