In order to participate in Statewide Data Sharing, clients must sign a Release of Information (ROI) consenting to their data being shared statewide within HMIS. Statewide Data Sharing is also required for clients to participate in the Coordinated Entry process within HMIS. So now, more than ever, it’s important to make sure that consented ROIs are being documented accurately.

Two things need to happen to correctly document a consented ROI in HMIS:

  • The Alias field should say “SHARED”

  • The Date of ROI Consent field in the Universal Profile section on the Client Profile tab should have ONE date.
