From the HMIS Governing Board: Governing Board Outreach Visits at CoC Meetings

In the upcoming weeks, HMIS Governing Board members will be conducting outreach visits to the CoCs, State Program Partners and the Minnesota Tribal Collaborative. The purpose of this outreach is to raise awareness of the HMIS Governing Board’s purpose, provide an update on recent activities and HMIS developments, and share opportunities to provide input or engage with the Board. During these outreach visits you can learn more about:

  • What ICA and the Governing Board’s Policy and Prioritization Committee have been doing to utilize HMIS data for COVID-19 response, including tools ICA developed within HMIS to help agencies respond to the pandemic

  • The new Quarterly Data Quality process and how CoCs and State Program Partners are collaborating to create a shared framework for monitoring and evaluating data quality

  • What the Governing Board and ICA are doing to address the challenges we’re experiencing with our HMIS software

There will also be an opportunity to ask questions of Board members and participate in discussions about the work of the Board and its committees. The HMIS Governing Board is committed to transparency and continual engagement with HMIS stakeholders, so these outreach visits are an important way for Board members to hear about the needs, challenges and accomplishments of the HMIS community. Watch for information about the timing of these visits, and please attend if you are able! If you aren’t able to attend but are interested in learning more about the HMIS Governing Board, please see the Governing Board page of the MN HMIS website, or check out this document that provides a brief overview of the Board and its work.
