REPORTcollection

REPORTcollection

For the latest on report updates during the FY2024 Data Standards changes, see this page that describes how we are updating reports and keeping you informed through the REPORTcollection.

The REPORTcollection is a library of reports in Minnesota’s HMIS. It’s comprised of ART reports accessible only to HMIS users and publicly available dashboards.

The REPORTcollection is organized by report name, audience, location, description, and report code. It’s easily searchable and can be filtered several ways. It is updated in real time and so is the most accurate reflection of available HMIS reports. Behind the scenes, our team documents versions, bugs, user suggestions, release dates, and more to best help our users get the data they need.

Click here for the REPORTcollection in airtable (Be sure to hover over the (i) of each column name for a description).

Some reports have companion documentation, like a manual. This REPORTcollection gallery view features only reports that have downloadable manuals.

How will the REPORTcollection help me use my HMIS data?

Let's walk through a scenario. Let's say you are an HMIS user in Hennepin County who is looking for all Adult Shelter Connect ART reports you have access to. What do you do?

Open the link to the REPORTcollection. You can use the search feature to search for "ASC".

Hmm. That still may seem like a lot of reports to search. You can filter to help narrow down the set of report. In this situation we know that the Audience is Hennepin, so let's narrow down the set of reports. (Another option is filtering by report name!)

What do these categories mean?

Here’s how we organize reports into categories, which represent most types of use.

Report Name: Name of the report as noted in ART.
Current Version: Most current version of the report noted in ART.
Report Code: String of Report ID - Audience - Homeless Program - Primary Use.
Audience: Primary audience of the report. Homeless Program: If the primary audience of the report is a Federal or State Homeless Program, this column specifies the program.
Primary Use: Main use of the report. Note, a report can have multiple uses, but we noted the primary reason the report was built here.
Report Description: Short description of the purpose of the report. This column is still in development and will be expanded on as we continue developing this tool.
ART Folder Path: Location of the report in the ART Gallery
RD Link: Link to the Report Definition article in Help Scout
