Salary: $74,604 to $83,000 Annually

Full Time, Regular, 40 Hours per Week

Job Overview:

Wilder Research seeks an experienced database Business Analyst/Technical Lead to contribute to Minnesota’s Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). The Business Analyst/Technical Lead is a pivotal function that reports to the Manager of External MIS Projects. The position will help shape Minnesota’s rapidly evolving HMIS. Duties include:

  • Actively communicate and collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to analyze information needs and functional requirements
  • Develop artifacts as needed, e.g., Business Requirements Documents, Use Cases, Workflow Designs, Report Specifications
  • Collaborate with software vendor and subject matter experts to establish technical vision, analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs, and to define solutions to meet functional requirements
  • Supervision of 2-4 technical staff operating within a total unit of 10-12 members 


  • Bachelors degree and at least 5 years of experience in business analyst / technical lead role, or Associates degree and at least 8 years of related experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, being able to discuss and present options for both technical- and non-technical- stakeholders
  • Experience with systems integration and the software development life cycle, including but not limited to business process and requirements analysis, software architecture and design, software documentation, software testing, data modeling and database design
  • Experience with Bowman Systems’ ServicePoint software, and knowledge of state and federal funding related to homelessness is a plus
